CBS Boston (WBZ-WSBK) and the New England Sports Network (NESN) today announced a new partnership that they say “will enhance sports and weather coverage for viewers across the Boston DMA.” The collaboration begins this week.
As part of this multi-platform content partnership:
The WBZ Next Weather team will deliver weather updates in every Red Sox and Bruins pre-game and post-game show on NESN. NESN talent will appear live on WBZ’s weekday early newscasts ahead of major games, offering exclusive insights and cross-promotional opportunities. WBZ will periodically integrate custom weekly content from NESN into morning newscasts, bringing sports fans closer to the teams they follow. Boston Has Entered the Chat: Extra, NESN’s go-to place for all things Boston Sports, hosted by George Balekji and Travis Thomas, will air on WSBK weeknights at 9 p.m. This show will incorporate trending storylines on social media and exciting guests to keep fans updated on the latest headlines surrounding New England sports.
“This partnership is a strategic extension of our commitment to serve viewers with relevant, timely, and high-impact content,” said Johnny Green, CBS Boston regional president and general manager. “By aligning with NESN, we’re expanding our reach, elevating our brand, and delivering more value to our Boston audience across platforms.”
“This partnership with CBS Boston reflects our shared dedication to delivering exceptional, locally relevant content to passionate New England sports fans,” said Matt Volk, NESN chief operating officer. “By bringing together the trusted weather expertise of WBZ and the deep sports coverage of NESN, we’re creating a more dynamic viewing experience
