Technology, news and digital executives, managers, professionals and content creators will gather once more to share ideas at TVNewsCheck’s 11th annual NewsTECHForum on Dec. 17 at the New York Hilton.
NewsTECHForum 2024 will highlight the theme Rewiring the News for an AI Age, reflecting generative AI’s step change role in how news media operate. The conference will look equally toward reimagining the newsroom architecture, organization and technology necessary to meet a dramatically changed multiplatform world.
“Many newsrooms are feeling squeezed as their workflows and digital products have failed to keep pace with demands of multimedia production and distribution,” said Michael Depp, NewsCheckMedia’s chief content officer and TVNewsCheck’s editor. “News leaders, technologists and news video storytellers are heading into 2025 looking for a reset and better ways of working that avoid redundancy, maximize efficiency and lean into creativity.”
“This year’s NewsTECHForum will present ideas and solutions pairing the best of human ingenuity and generative AI possibility,” Depp said. “It will convene top executives and futurists from across a wide array of organizations as media converge into a single, multichannel lane in which everyone is competing for eyeballs and loyalty.”
In a first in the conference’s history, TVNewsCheck is also partnering with two venerable professional societies to co-program two of this year’s sessions. Rebooting the Digital Product Suite will be co-presented with ONA, long the news media industry’s leading hub of digital development and experimentation. Scenes From a Gen AI-Enabled Newsroom will be co-presented with RTDNA, a bulwark organization for First Amendment
