George Floyd’s murder in Minneapolis sparked protests, civil unrest, and nationwide calls for police reform. Five years later, Fox O&O KMSP Minneapolis examines what has — and hasn’t — changed since May 25, 2020.
The one-hour special, After George Floyd, hosted by KMSP’s Symone Woolridge, shares the stories of residents and businesses in and around George Floyd Square, five years later.
The special e also walks the beat with two Minneapolis police officers assigned to the area, where emotions remain raw. It sits down with the former police chief who led the department five years ago — and the current chief — to explore what has changed and what work remains. After George Floyd speaks with the State Commissioner of Human Rights about the consent decrees now in place for the police department: Have they made a difference? And it follows the journey of the muralist who painted the iconic image of George Floyd in 2020.
After George Floyd will air on Sunday, May 25, across all Fox Television Station primary streams at 9 p.m. ET / 8 CT. This includes each Fox local channel, LiveNOW and FOX Soul.
