The Radio Television Digital News Association is now accepting entries for the 2025 Edward R. Murrow Awards, recognizing excellence across professional and student categories. The Murrow Awards honor local and national news stories that uphold the RTDNA Code of Ethics, showcase technical excellence, and highlight the critical role of journalism in serving the community. Murrow Award-winning work embodies the standard of excellence established by Edward R. Murrow in the broadcast news profession.
The deadline to submit your work is Thursday, Feb. 13. at 5 p.m. ET. Journalists are encouraged to showcase their most exceptional work in this prestigious competition.
RTDNA said: “This year, we’re using a new submission system, so we highly recommend starting your Murrow entries earlier than usual. (We know “early” is a funny concept for journalists, but trust us on this one!) Getting started sooner will help avoid any unexpected hiccups with the new process.
To be eligible, work must have been published between Jan. 1, 2024, and Dec. 31, 2024. Entrants are strongly encouraged to review the complete rules and category descriptions before submitting.”
Regional winners will be announced during #MurrowMay in the spring. All regional winners automatically advance to the national competition, with winners announced in August. National winners will be celebrated at the 2025 Edward R. Murrow Awards Gala in October in New York City.
