SMPTE, an organization for media professionals, technologists and engineers, announced its call for technical papers for the SMPTE 2025 Media Technology Summit, which will be held Oct. 13-16 at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, Calif.
The Summit “will aim to present the latest innovative processes, tools, workflows, interoperability solutions, standards and various other exciting initiatives driving the industry forward, ensuring unwavering quality in the seamless creation, management, and delivery of media content.” Original, unpublished manuscripts aligning with these goals will undergo multipeer review when submitted as abstracts. Abstracts should fall within the range of 300-400 words and will be accepted until May 31.
“When people reach a summit, they gain a new perspective,” said MTS co-chair Marc Zorn, content protection and production security at Marvel Studios. “The SMPTE Media Technology Summit, this year in Pasadena, is one of the last remaining technical conferences to present peer-reviewed technical papers. If you are an expert to be consulted when reaching The Summit, the call for papers is now open.”
The conference program committee will notify authors of decisions by June 30. Authors of selected papers will be granted the opportunity to present at the world’s premier peer-reviewed forum dedicated to the exploration of media and entertainment technology. Furthermore, these manuscripts will automatically be considered for publication in the SMPTE Motion Imaging Journal, subject to a separate post-event peer-review process.
Paper topics can include, but are not limited to:
