This fall, Hearst Television CBS affiliate KCCI Des Moines, Iowa, is expanding its college football coverage by adding a new local pregame show every Saturday morning. Big College Kickoff will air Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. followed by CBS Sports’ coverage of Big Ten football. The half-hour program will feature local perspectives, behind-the-scenes insight, and fun looks at fan culture, focusing on NCAA Division 1 teams in Iowa.
Sports anchor Jeff Dubrof, along with Sports Director Scott Reister and sports reporter Shannon Ehrhardt will carry fans through the season with the latest on the University of Iowa and Iowa State University football teams.
CBS is bringing Big Ten football to KCCI viewers this fall. The schedule includes the biggest rivalry in the state, the Iowa State Cyclones vs the University of Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday, September 7 at 3 p.m. KCCI will have an expanded team at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City for Big College Kickoff: CyHawk Showdown. This special edition will precede the game at 1:30 p.m.
“Our team is excited to leverage our award-winning reporting to accompany CBS Sports’ Big Ten broadcasts,” said KCCI President and General Manager Brian Sather. “This new local pregame show will also allow us to increase our coverage of the Big 12 Conference in a big way.”
The first episode of Big College Kickoff season will be on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 10:30 a.m.
