Facing unprecedented media industry disruption, local TV broadcasting’s leaders will gather for a day of conversation about strategies for capitalizing on a multiplatform media ecosystem at TVNewsCheck’s Local TV Strategies Conference.
Kicking the day off will be a financial forecast and trend analysis from Rick Ducey, managing director of BIA Advisory Services, who will focus on how the industry can bring legacy businesses into the future on sound economic footing. He’ll also explore how organizations can leverage unique value propositions while creating new ones during a presentation, “Reinventing Local TV for Relevance and Revenue Growth.”
Local TV Strategies will take place on Oct. 9 at NAB Show New York.
“TV’s content, distribution, economics and business models are in flux, facing both cyclical and secular headwinds and tailwinds,” Ducey said. “The rules are changing faster than the industry has been able to adapt. Technology, competition, consumer preferences, government, the power of first-party and deterministic data are remaking the mold. What happens in 2025 might well set the stage for the next decade.”
“Rick is a first-class analyst who can provide a unique window into what’s in store for spot TV advertising, retrans and reverse comp next year,” said Michael Depp, chief content officer for NewsCheckMedia and editor, TVNewsCheck. “He’ll also delve into how success now requires a longer strategic outlook that rebalances typical risk-reward ratios towards more risk and innovation while still serving core and enduring audience and advertiser expectations.
Ducey’s session will open Local TV Strategies at 9 a.m. on Oct.
